It was a sad day in March when Poco’s closed its doors. But I am happy to report that with an uptick in the economy, Poco’s has reopened! The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch 7 days a week, and dinner Thursday-Saturday. Though the menu remains the same, Poco has added a buffet of daily specials. The day I was there, the buffet included fajitas, chicken mole and pork with a spicy red sauce, among other tempting dishes.
“Poco” Gutierrez, her brother Carlos Llamos, and Poco’s daughter Claudia are a wonderful family–their hospitality is unmatched, and they turn out authentic Mexican specialties from their hometown. Though the restaurant previously did the bulk of its business at breakfast and lunch, be sure to give dinner a try. It leans toward upscale Latin American cuisine, not the typical enchilada or burrito meal you may expect. Whether you have lamb, salmon or chicken mole, everything is prepared with creativity. And the prices are refreshingly reasonable.
